Short Bead Stair

The bead stairs are a great way for children to learn a multitude of math concepts. Children first need to start off by learning all about the bead stair. What color is each number of beads from 1-10? One-Red Two-Green 3-Pink 4-Yellow 5-Light Blue 6-Lavender 7-White 8-Brown 9-Dark Blue 10-Gold. Once children know the number and corresponding color of each bead segment then they can move on to place value, addition, subtraction, ect..

Color iSpy Bottles

 These are color iSpy bottles. Each bottle is filled with colored rice and objects of the particular color. There is also a picture card and colored gems that correspond with the bottle. The other pictures are color "boxes". Each one contains a variety of objects all of the same color.

During October we focused on Fire Safety. Our local fire department visited and the kiddos got to sit in the truck!

September Activity Calendar

Here is the calendar I used for September.

Preschool Activity Calendars

In my classroom I like to organize the month using activity calendars. The calendars list 25 different activities/subject the kids will be working on throughout the month. I always send these calendars home so that parents have an idea about what their children are learning. One major omission from these calendars are the days of the week. I don't like to specify days of the week just in case we aren't able to get a certain activity. We all know that unplanned things pop up all the time, so I find it best not to include specifics.
